It’s Important that the 1994 Agreement on Ceasefire will be Maintained from Now on: German Ambassador to Armenia
Matthias Kiesler, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia, considers Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting held in Vienna a great success.
Touching upon the meeting, he stated that it was particularly important, as it took place due to the efforts and great political support of OSCE MG Co-chairs, provided by the three minsters of foreign affairs.
“Not only the fact that the meeting took place is important, but also concrete results have been recorded, especially the fact, that an agreement has been reached that the 1994 ceasefire agreement will be maintained from now on, and that investigative mechanisms should be installed on the Line of Contact, and that the office of Kasprzyk will be expanded. These are points, for which OSCE presidency of Germany exerted its efforts and did its best to make them a reality,” the Ambassador said.
To the observation that Azerbaijan stated, that they are against expansion of the existing Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson in Office, Matthias Kiesler replied,
“There is the statement by the Co-chairs, according to which the two sides have reached an agreement on expansion of the office, and I consider, both sides should feel themselves obliged to implement that agreement.”
