Agreement on Transportation of Iranian Gas through the Territory of Armenia has been Concluded
The agreement on export of Iranian natural gas to Georgia has been concluded, Iranian bureau of Azerbaijani APA Agency reported.
The signed agreement will be valid for 4 months. On the whole, 40 million cubic meters of gas will be transported to Georgia from Iran.
Last week after the agreement on transfer of Iranian gas through the territory of Armenia was concluded between Iran and Armenia, a short term agreement was signed with Georgia, on a trial period.
The agreement has been reached between National Iranian Gas and Georgian GIEC.
Extension of the agreement and gas supply to Georgia with larger volumes will be possible after permit is obtained from Armenia.
Established in 2005, GIEC engages in import and distribution of gas to industrial customers, including cement, glass and chemical manufacturers.
