On the Basis of What should Mironov have been Kept under Arrest?

The Republic of Armenia and the USA don’t have a document on mutual legal assistance and if the U.S. didn’t submit corresponding grounds, Armenia was obliged to free Russia’s citizen Sergey Mironov, i.e. decision of the judge was lawful. Edmon Marukyan, NA MP, member of Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, told 168.am about this.

For more precise information he advised to apply to the Ministry of Justice.

“There are deadlines, and if they don’t submit grounds, a person should be released. Otherwise, on the basis of what should they have kept him under arrest?” E.Marukyan said.

Russian citizen Sergei Mironov, was arrested by the law enforcement at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport on August 26, who was listed by the U.S. on the international wanted list for illegal sale of firearms. However in the period of 3 days following the arrest, the USA didn’t send either decision on arrest or mediation, as a result, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, refused the Prosecutor’s demand on remanding Russia’s citizen Sergei Mironov on August 29.
