Artsakh will Never Be a Part of Azerbaijan: Eduard Sharmazanov

The Armenian parliamentary delegation, headed by NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, members of which are NA MPs Sukias Avetisyan and Mikael Manukyan, had a meeting with the President of the House of Representatives of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, members of Uruguay-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The sides highlighted the necessity of supporting one another at Inter-Parliamentary Union. Members of Armenian Delegation expressed readiness to contribute to strengthening and development of inter-parliamentary ties.

Reflecting to NK conflict, Eduard Sharmazanov stated, that Artsakh will never be a part of Azerbaijan. He recorded that Azerbaijan doesn’t even tolerate existence of centuries-old Armenian cultural heritage on its territory. Vivid proof for this, according to the NA Deputy Speaker, is destroying of ten thousands of khachkars of Julfa in Nakhchivan.

Rubén Martínez Huelmo, member of Board of Directors, in his turn, stated that it’s necessary to support realization of the right to self-determination of Artsakhi people. Members of Armenian Delegation expressed gratitude to the Uruguayan parliamentarian for visiting Artsakh in 2013.

International recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide had its reflection during the meeting as well. The Uruguayan side stated that the whole world should condemn the Armenian Genocide.
