The Agreement on Mutual Assistance between Armenia and NK to Be Discussed at NA Forthcoming Session
“The National Assembly, MPs, the public get information on processes regarding Karabakh from foreign press,” MP Nikol Pashinyan told at today’s NA session, according to whom this issue should be corrected.
According to N.Pashinyan the National Assembly should have information on nature and process of negotiations, “As you know, rather subtle issues are covered during the negotiations.”
NA PAP Faction head Naira Zohrabyan noticed, that approximately a month ago Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan stated, that the agreement on mutual assistance between Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh is basically ready.
“I’d like you to introduce during the four-day session: if it’s ready, why isn’t it in the respective commission, and if not, why does the Foreign Ministry official make such an irresponsible statement? I consider the agreement is essentially ready, what’s the reason that at this sensitive and explosive stage we again avoid to bring the issue to the National Assembly and discuss it?” N.Zohrabyan stated.
G.Sahakyan stated that at tomorrow’s session it will be discussed and N.Zohrabyan may give that question and get its reply. Artak Zakaryan, Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, opened some brackets, saying,
“There is no need to dramatize the issue, it has been comprehensively discussed, all the MPs expressed their opinion, the text has been written with a range of shortcomings—it contained shortcomings regarding both politics and terminology, they came to an agreement and at the next session the commission will discuss already updated version. At the forthcoming session it’ll be discussed with the participation of the authors.”
