Be afraid of this, Misters. Let me say that I’m also afraid: Tevan Poghosyan
Statement by NA MP Tevan Poghosyan in the NA,
“In the period of recent two days at least more than dozens of respectable figures managed to give a press conferences and interviews about the point that people continue trusting Republicans and that party member continues confidently leading the political field, that they won here and there, and will win everywhere. Yesterday I was watching the interview of already twentieth RPA member under the music of Russian “Brigada” film. I assure, there was something harmonious in that combination.
In fact, you won’t find anyone discussing how loved the authorities are. They discuss something different. These days the most spread statement everywhere is one, “No, bro, it’s impossible to change anything through elections.” Everybody should be afraid of this expression, Misters. Through unjustified arrogance you completely boost perception that the way of solving political issues is only through non-political means. Be afraid of this, Misters. Let me say, that I’m also afraid.
Being in the leadership, first of all, means not ruling the country, but ruling people’s hopes. By trespassing those hopes it’s impossible to reach anything. I think I shouldn’t bring examples.
Now we have a new Constitution, which is about very beautiful things. Then we had elections in Vanadzor. The opposition won in these elections. Non-authorities’ representatives received more than half of votes. Spirit of new Constitution is about the point that an opposition representative will become a mayor. We’ll see whether we can have hopes by new Constitution or not. Of course, it’s not the issue of RPA member, that political power follows its purposes in a rather organized way. However, it’s surely the issue of Armenian authorities. These days it’s being decided in Vanadzor whether the music accompanying new Constitution is Armenia’s hymn or Mozart’s Requiem. I consider we’ll soon learn about it.”
