Every Armenian, leaving Aleppo endangers his life—it’s a death road: Arman Navasardyan
“After Kerry-Lavrov negotiations the situation was so tense, that Syrian army, then humanitarian convoy were hit and etc. Of course, the focus today is Aleppo. Syria’s further destiny is decided in Aleppo. A situation has been established, that terrorists should leave Syria under pressure, however, a question emerges here: if that killer band—Islamic State, leaves, which direction will it take? Doesn’t it endanger the Caucasus and, in particular, Armenia,” Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Arman Navasardyan told reporters today.
In his words, the condition of Aleppo Armenians is very hard, “Although it’s said that there are 8-10 thousand Armenians there, but I learned from people there, that 4-5 thousand is left. I wouldn’t like to anticipate their destiny. A situation has been created, that every Armenian, leaving Aleppo endangers his/her life: that road is a death road. Armenia’s steps are belated.”
According to the Ambassador, loss of the Armenian community in Syria will cost the Diaspora good. Reflecting to Russia-USA relations, he stated, that the U.S. proceeds with its unipolar policy, and Russia attempts to introduce multipolarity, “Under this situation, what is currently going on in the Middle East, is a dangerous play with the fire.”
