Manchester United fans declare Henrikh Mkhitaryan ‘the new Lionel Messi’ after stunning Europa League goal
Manchester United fans have found themselves overwhelmed with emotion after Henrikh Mkhitaryan found the net in the Europa League, Metro reports.
After a dour 45 minutes in which neither United nor Zorya could muster any excitement of note, Mkhitaryan started the second half with emphatic effect and opened the scoring with wonderful ease.
Picking the ball up around 40 yards from goal, the Armenian international ignored the available pass to Wayne Rooney and instead burst into the penalty box with a cheeky nutmeg past the onrushing defender.
Mkhitaryan, bearing down on goal, gave the Zorya goalkeeper the eyes to comfortably slot the ball home in, dare we say, typical ‘Messi style’… or at least the Manchester United fans think so.
