PM Karapetyan held a meeting with the representatives of major producing and importing companies
Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan held a meeting with the representatives of 10 major importing companies of Armenia, listened to issues related to their activities and the steps expected from the Government that will create favorable conditions for their further activities, press service of the Government informed.
The businessmen stated that recently quick solutions are given to document circulation, including the customs formulations. As a problem, they have identified the issue of freights which is related to the current situation in the Upper Lars highway due to unfavorable weather.
PM Karapetyan informed that the Government currently is taking steps to develop new transport schemes and find alternative ways to Upper Lars highway that will enable to organize the import and export in more favorable conditions and predictable timeframe. Other issues related to the company activities, as well as the possibility of organizing the production of certain imported goods in Armenia were discussed.
The day before the PM held a meeting with the representatives of 10 major producer-exporter companies and said the Government is planning to show practical support to enterprises aimed at boosting the export. In particular, it is expected to conduct a monitoring over the legal norms regulating the export, reveal and eliminate the administrative obstacles.
A number of issues related to the sector, in particular, the problems raised in foreign markets over the realization of Armenian products were discussed. The PM stated that the Government will be consistent on solving the discussed issues since it attaches a great importance to the activity of producing companies directed towards export.
