If I’m not mistaken, this is the first quintuplet birth in Armenia. All babies are OK, they are in stable condition and under supervision. The mother is also in stable condition. We still have to make efforts in order for the newborns to be out of danger,” he said.

Father of the children—Vardan Karapetyan is 24 and mother—Lusine Poghosyan is 23. The parents have already decided the names of the newborns—Ara, Anna, Lilit, Tehmine, Rozi. “We have chosen the names, but we haven’t distributed them,” Vardan told reporters.

He said the newborns will remain in the hospital for about 1-2 months until reaching a body weight of 2kg. 4 of the newborns are girls, one is a boy. The doctor who delivered the babies says it is a victory that they succeeded in reaching the pregnancy to 28 weeks until birth.

The family of the children—grandma, grandpa, Vardan’s younger brother, and their 5 children—10 persons, live in Metsamor, in a dormitory.

The smallest child weighs 600 g, others weigh 700-950 g.
