One of the world’s largest diamonds is in Russian Diamond Fund
Painter Suqias Torosyan posted a photo on his Facebook page with a note,
“In 1773 Hovhannes Lazaryan’s diamond, which he bought from a compatriot—Grigor Shafrazyan, who, in his turn, bought from New Julfa, which used to belong Nadir Shah, who had it from India…
It’s devoted to Catherine II, however, out of unknown reasons it’s called Orlov diamond. One of the world’s largest diamonds—300 carats, currently is in Russian Diamond Fund.
