Tigran Balayan advises experts blaming Armenia’s MFA to learn the rules OSCE acts
Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia Tigran Balayan advises the experts, who blame the MFA in inactivity over the closure of the OSCE Yerevan Office, to learn the rules the OSCE acts, then to make a comment.
“Before making such conclusions, those, who consider themselves experts, must first of all gain experience, learn what the OSCE is and with which rules it acts, what was the stance of the remaining OSCE states on Baku’s behavior, then to express their opinions,” Balayan told “Armenpress”.
On May 4 OSCE chairing Austria’s representative announced that despite their efforts, it has not been possible to reach agreement to extend the mandate of the OSCE Office in Yerevan. Armenia’s MFA commented on this stating that with its unconstructive approaches Azerbaijan appeared in absolute isolation in the OSCE.
The OSCE Chairmanship, the participating states, the Secretariat, all support the activity of the OSCE Yerevan Office, and it is only Azerbaijan, which abusing the organization’s principle of consensus, opposes the continuation of the Yerevan Office’s activity, by this being opposed to the entire organization.
