Arrests in Paris
Paris law enforcement detained 141 protesters of the ‘anti-capitalist’ demonstration, which was held by far-left supporters in the evening of May 7 after the presidential elections results were released, FrancePress reported citing police sources.
According to the information, the majority of the detained have been released shortly thereafter. More than 300 people were taking part in the unauthorized protest.
The protesters were chanting ‘no to Macron, no to Le Pen’, and were throwing rocks and bottles at police officers. Similar protests were held in other French cities as well.
