Breach of balance of arsenals in NK conflict zone isn’t profitable for Russia: Vigen Sargsyan
If Russian armaments become a risk factor of balance of power breach in the Nagorno Karabakh conict zone, this will first of all be not beneficial for Russia itself, Armenia’s Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan said in an interview to Interfax, when asked about the Russian sales of weapons to Azerbaijan.
“We are definitely allies with Russia. Everyone knows this. And if as result of breach of armament balance the Russia arms become a risk factor in the conflict, then I believe, first of all this won’t be profitable for Russia itself,” Sargsyan said.
He added that Armenia’s society pays great attention to the issue of Russia selling arms to Azerbaijan, especially when these very weapons are engaged in case of escalation, like it happened in April of 2016. “Any event of the engagement of these armaments becomes an occasion of very serious emotions in Armenia, taking into account the special attitude of our nation for Russia,” he said.
