Lavrov-Tillerson talks underway in Washington
The negotiations of Russian FM Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson are underway in Washington, USA, TASS reported.
Earlier the Russian foreign ministry had reported the talks will focus on Syria. The sides will also discuss the Ukraine conflict settlement, the situation in the Korean peninsula and several other bilateral issues. Lavrov arrived in the US on a three-day visit.
The Russian FM will hold talks with US President Donald Trump on May 10. Afterwards Lavrov will depart for Alaska, where he will participate in the ministerial meeting of the Arctic Council on May 11.
