Azerbaijan opens cross-border gunfire at Armenia and Artsakh 52 times in two days
Azerbaijani Armed Forces have breached the ceasefire 52 times at both the Armenian border (21 times) and the Artsakh Line of Contact (31 times) in two days (September 11-13), Head of the Information Department of the Armenian Armed Forces General Staff’s Administrative Body Samvel Asatryan told ARMENPRESS.
He said the Azerbaijani military opened cross-border small arms gunfire (including from Istiglal anti-materiel rifles, PK machine guns and SVD sniper rifles) 21 times at Armenia’s military positions located near the Movses and Berdavan communities in Tavush Province, Yeraskhavan and Paruyr Sevak communities in Ararat Province and Areni and Chiva communities in Vayots Dzor Province. At the Artsakh Line of Contact the Azerbaijani troops violated the ceasefire regime 31 times, opening cross-border gunfire at Artsakh’s military positions of Martakert, Martuni, Askeran and Hadrut regions.
“The Armenian Armed Forces are confidently controlling the border situation in the entire length of the border line and are strictly adhering to the ceasefire and are taking actions according to the situation only in the event of the adversary’s targeted violations,” Asatryan added.
Asatryan did not report injuries.
