Pashinyan: “There will be the most brutal vendettas, don’t flounder; people, get ready for civil vengeance”
During a campaign meeting in the city of Talin of Aragatsotn Province of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan reminded that even though, before the revolution in 2018, he had said there wouldn’t be crackdowns on personnel and vendettas, he has changed his mind, meaning there will be crackdowns on personnel, and the crackdowns will be on officials who, taking advantage of the opportunities granted to them after the revolution in 2018, took shelter in the ‘corridors of the power of the people’ and have been playing the role of the ‘Trojan Horse’ during the past three years.
“Yes, give us the mandate for crackdowns on personnel, and we will throw all ‘Trojan horses’ out of the public administration system of Armenia! I had said there wouldn’t be vendettas. Today I received photos taken during campaign meetings, and the people in those photos are standing with crooked necks, looking like there are leashes around their necks. It is clear that the directors of certain companies and heads of communities are using their administrative leverages and forcing people to attend campaign meetings. I will be straightforward and clearly state that after the elections, there will be vendettas against the heads of communities who were trying to coerce people ahead of the elections. I don’t care if the companies are private or public. The directors of companies who coerce their employees will be subjected to the most brutal, but political vendettas. I’m not talking about settling a score physically. To put it shortly, the heads of those communities will be gotten rid of, and fair elections will be held in those communities,” he stressed, threatening to deal with the owners of companies as well.
“We’ll also deal with owners. If they try to show resistance, we will also subject them to the most brutal civil vendettas. Well, I’m warning them and telling them to not try to flounder.”
In this context, Nikol Pashinyan called on the gathered to go to the polling stations and vote so that their ‘velvet mandate’ is replaced with a ‘steel mandate’.
“And you will see political and civil vendettas and crackdowns on personnel. All swindlers who took advantage of the forgiveness of the people and acted against the people during the past three years will be driven out of the public administration system. We will personally grab the necks of all those people and throw them out of the public administration system one by one. Get ready for civil vengeance, get ready for civil vendettas and crackdowns on personnel,” Pashinyan concluded.
