A 9-year-old girl from Artsakh is fighting cancer under the Azerbaijani blockade, deprived of normal feeding

The humanitarian disaster in the Republic of Artsakh is gradually deepening, under the blockade, thousands of children cannot receive proper medical care, and they are also deprived of food, because no humanitarian aid has entered Artsakh since June 15.

Anush Andryan’s large family, displaced from Hadrut during the 44-day war, is struggling to cope with the difficulties caused by the siege.

Currently Anush lives with her husband and 6 children, only one of them is an adult, in a guest house in Stepanakert. Anush’s 9-year-old daughter has kidney cancer, the situation is getting worse day by day, because on one hand, there is no necessary medicine, and on the other hand, there is no food for the child to eat properly.

In a conversation with 168.am, AnushAndryan said that this morning the child ate only beans, boiled beans without oil, and in the evening they don’t know what to eat because there is nothing.

“There is nothing in general, we cannot find anything, my child has cancer of the lymph nodes, she should eat normally, but there is no food, if there is meat, it is so expensive that we cannot afford it. Pharmacies and shops are empty.

My child is under age, if we were to move her to Yerevan, she had to have an adult accompanying her, I could not leave my other children here, we do not have a babysitter, and take my daughter to Yerevan, that is why we are facing a problem, we are in this situation,” she said.

All this is the second difficult experience in Anush’s life, which she is trying to overcome, the first was the loss of her home and means of livelihood in Hadrut’sTaghaser village, the second was the health issues of the little girl, which Anush cannot solve alone in any way, because the Azerbaijani blockade makes it difficult, and the health condition of a 9-year-old girl can deteriorate at any moment.
