People celebrate liberation of Aleppo under “Zartnir, lao” in the center of the city
Thousands of people celebrated liberation of Aleppo from militants in the center of the city. In its honor the orchestra of Syrian-Armenians, dressed in Santas, played the well-known “Zartnir, lao,” which is a symbol of Armenians’ fight against the Osman Empire.
On December 13 Syrian governmental troops almost completely liberated eastern part of the city, which has been under the control of Syrian rebels for 4 years.
Currently about 10 thousand Armenians are left from the large Armenian Community in Aleppo.
