No final decision yet over Amulsar mine – Armenian PM’s spokesman

There is no final decision yet over the operation of Amulsar gold mine, Spokesperson of the Armenian Prime Minister Vladimir Karapetyan told reporters, adding that he cannot say for sure what will be the future actions on this direction.

“The discussions on this matter continue. The relevant authorities will soon touch upon this issue. Based on the instruction of the PM the Ministry of Environment has prepared its approaches over the new Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)”, he said.

Asked that it’s not clear from the statement whether there is a need for new EIA or not, the PM’s spokesman said: “The reason is that there is no final decision and final idea yet. When the discussions are over, we will announce them”.
