Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office examining 168.am’s publication about Pashinyan’s assistant Anna Vardanyan giving instructions to investigator for Ruben Hayrapetyan’s case

As already reported, late last night, sensational videos were sent to the e-mail address of 168.am. The videos clearly showed Advisor to Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan for Legal Affairs Anna Vardapetyan interfering in the preliminary investigation of the criminal cases launched against businessman, former president of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan and his son, Rafik Hayrapetyan by making corrections in the materials of the cases and, in essence, instructing the key role-players.

There were facts according to which Anna Vardapetyan had sent, via e-mails, assignments to investigator (for the criminal cases) Artur Ayvazyan and Head of the Criminal Police Department Ruben Davtyan in regard to specific decisions, particularly the decision on engaging Ruben Hayrapetyan and his son, Rafik Hayrapetyan as the accused under the criminal cases. The videos also show investigator Artur Ayvazyan transferring information constituting bank secret to Anna Vardapetyan.

In the videos that 168.am grouped into one video, there are also Microsoft Word documents under the names of different people. 168.am found out that the documents featured the names of the witnesses under the cases. The existence of documents under the names of those people in the e-mails of the preliminary investigation body and Anna Vardapetyan serve as reasonable ground to assume that state officials collaborated and also “worked” with the witnesses.

Yesterday Amram Makinyan, attorney of Ruben and Rafik Hayrapetyans, also touched upon the video and posted on his Facebook page that the released videos contain irrefutable facts about heavy crimes that were committed by the officials and are characteristic of an organized criminal group.

“I will submit a report on this embarrassment to the Prosecutor General’s Office in the morning, but until then, I can say that staying up all night and deleting the e-mails won’t help the criminals avoid criminal liability,” Makinyan stated.

Amram Makinyan told 168.am that he has already sent the written report on the crime to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“Yes, I have submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office a report on several prima facie crimes that Nikol Pashinyan’s assistant Anna Vardapetyan and Investigator for Particularly Important Cases of the General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Artur Ayvazyan committed by using their official positions, along with evidence,” he said.

The Prosecutor General’s Office told 168.am that it has received Amram Makinyann’s report, adding that it is examining the publication and has not sent it to any authority.
