A story about 204 million dollars

The Armenian energy and natural resources minister Armen Movsisyan said concerning Armenia’s debt of $155 million that the debt was accumulated since 2011. The minister’s cloudy explanation gives a clue that the price of gas was increased in 2011 but ArmRusGazArd company continued paying the old price ($180). This resulted in a debt of $300 million, and as the Russians “generously” took on the responsibility for this money, Armenia had to forfeit its share in the company. In fact the debt of 49 million that has accumulated since 2013 is Armenia’s debt because the Armenian government announced that it would subsidize for gas price increase. However, nobody said anything about the debt accumulated in July 2011 – April 2013. This debt amounts 204 million dollars, which was left for the Armenian taxpayers to cover. By the way, ArmRusGazArd company has nothing to do here; it is the Armenian government’s fault. Similarly it could be any other company that has share held by the Armenian government. It is not excluded that there may be similar games, and one day we will learn that we have more debts and have to forfeit more.
