Price for Gas Supplied from Russia to Remain USD 165 until March
RA Government approved signing of two draft bills in implementing amendments to the accord of 2 December 2013 on order of price formation in supplying natural gas, signed between Armenia’s and Russia’s Governments.
The drafts bills at Governmental session have been introduced by Iosif Isayan, RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, who stated that the Armenian party applied to RA Ministry of Energy in November 2015, proposing to decrease price for natural gas supplied to Armenia, “On account of the fact that negotiations with Russian party are still in process, agreement has been reached to maintain USD 165 for 1000 m3 defined for the last year, for the first quarter of 2016, for which RA Government approves proposal of signing a protocol on implementing changes to 2 December 2013 accord on formation of gas price order supplied to the Republic of Armenia, signed between RA and RF Governments.”
“We agree, that this protocol was signed by the Ministry,” said Hovik Abrahamyan, RA Prime Minister.
Iosif Isayan also informed that pursuant second protocol on amendments to the offered accord, it’s provided to leave total additional income of Gazprom Armenia CJSC emerging in the first quarter of 2016, to cover the losses due to depreciation of Armenian dram towards Russian ruble and for provision of purchase with investments in assets of Gazprom Armenia CJSC by Gazprom OJSC.
“It’s noteworthy to mention, that otherwise reimbursement of compensation of those losses would be possible only through rising of gas tariff, which in its turn would reflect on energy tariff. The parties are obliged to develop and confirm models for monetary flows calculation until 1 November 2016, from main activity of Gazprom Armenia CJSC in gas supply system, and from main activity of the company in energy supply system,” Isayan said.
