Foreign Language Learning is Easier and Faster through Armenian E-Voca Project

Armenian E-Voca startup is provided for those, intending to learn foreign languages, but have problem in memorizing words.

This mobile application, based on contemporary innovative technology acquisitions and well-known scientific phycology provisions, will allow to very quickly learn and memorize hundreds of words.

Author of the project is Garegin Karhanyan, a teacher, who is well aware of all issues people face in learning a foreign language. Based on his work experience, Garegin Karhanyan, together with Garik Arzumanyan, founder of the application and programmer, launches E-Voca Project works.

E-Voca Project isn’t an ordinary dictionary, it’s composed of a range of audio dictionaries.

“E-Voca is often confused with a dictionary; this program isn’t a dictionary, but a tool for learning words. There are lists of special words, which will allow passing international exams.”

Use of the application is very easy. It’s just necessary to install the application. It will allow to choose the way of learning a word: to learning only the word, synonyms, using in a sentence, repeating the word a few times,” Karhanyan told 168.am.

The Project isn’t meant only for learning English. It includes Indian, Chinese, Russian and Arabian; there are also 500-word dictionaries for TOEFL or travelling to any country. There are also 3 dictionaries with 200 simple expressions. In the forthcoming days, a dictionary comprising 1000 words will be ready, where words for elementary level may be found, divided into groups: house, education, shopping and etc. Dictionaries will be in German, Spanish, French, Armenian, English and Russian. On the whole, E-Voca application contains 50 audio dictionaries.

“While implementing the project, we applied to Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) co-financing program, which invested 85%, in partnership with the World Bank and RA Ministry of Economy, and 15% comprise our means. It was planned for one year. This May the program will be completed. If we planned to have 12 dictionaries, currently we have 51. After the program, if any investments are implemented, it may undergo many changes. We anticipate adding new games, tests and etc.,” Garegin Karhanyan said.

Project authors also have one purpose, lead Armenia on international level, and make it available for everyone. To enter international market, however, investments are needed.

According to G.Karhanyan, the application has direction to schools as well. It may become an innovative means for studying a foreign language.

“I talked to lots of specialists in the field. E-Voca Project may become an additional tool for learners and pupils. Especially dictionaries comprising 1000 words, will be very helpful for the pupils, and the teacher may conduct which words should be learnt through the application for the lesson. The program will be helpful to quickly memorize the words. ”

Note, in 2015 E-Voca Project was the winner of Vanadzor co-financing program by Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), in partnership with the World Bank and RA Ministry of Economy.
