30% of Iran’s Internet to Pass through Armenia: Gagik Beglaryan
Zaruhi Postanjyan, head of “Heritage” Faction, stated at today’s NA-Government Q&A, that the president of Iran during the meeting with RA Minister of Foreign Affairs informed that Iran is ready to invest for opening the channel connecting the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea through the territory of Armenia, as well as to allocate technical and construction assistance. She interested what was implemented to that end, and when we’d have the possibility of that transit state linked to oil and gas pipelines.
Gagik Beglaryan, Minister of Transport and Communication, informed that agreements have been signed, however, we should be able to provide transit from the West to the Black Sea, he stated that this month Iranian specialists will arrive on occasion of the railway, technical survey is ready, however, funds are necessary for its construction.
In his words, they are becoming able to settle more crucial issue connected with North South road. According to G.Beglaryan, the concrete road starting from Agarak was changed by asphalt road, and Agarak-Sisian road will be constructed in 2 years, which shortens the road by 70km, 5km tunnel will be constructed, by which a normal road is being proposed to Iranians till Yeraskh. The Minister stated that already a few Iranian companies agreed to get those wagons to the Black Sea. G.Beglaryan also stated that about 30% of Iran’s internet should be transferred through the territory of Armenia.
