“Aram Ateshian’s Classmates are Convinced—“Traitor” of Father Manuel to the Authorities was Ateshian”
“If Aram Ateshian doesn’t voluntarily leave his occupied chair, we’ll face a rather serious issue, that Turkey will develop its game through Aram Ateshian, who has become its puppet,” Sargis Hatspanyan, expert-analyst for regional issues, told reporters today.
He provided some noteworthy information about Aram Ateshian, General Vicar of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, stating that the latter possesses real estate costing millions of drams in Etchmiatsin, Abovyan, Moscow and other places, “This is absurdity, instead of providing spiritual service to his people, the Armenian priest appears with such a position, and nobody asks: where do you have it from? Why don’t you give it to your people?”

He informed that these days he talked to Aram Ateshian’s classmates, most of whose always negatively expressed of him, “ Aram Ateshian had a classmate—Manuel Yerkatian, they became deacons together. When Father Manuel Yerkatian came to Constantinople to take pupils with him, Father Manuel was arrested by Turkish authorities. He was charged for being a member to terror organization of Armenian armed struggle, as if he named his dog a “Turk.” Seven people edified on his case, the only lacking edifice is that of Ateshian. A question arises here, why others are being interrogated and they say it’s an absurdity, as he is a priest, and Ateshian, his classmate, doesn’t give edifice? Father Manuel was sentenced for 14 years in prison.”
S.Hatspanyan also stated, that father Manuel died in 2004, and currently one of his friends from abroad asked S.Hatspanyan to say he’s ready to speak publicly everywhere. He told all the class hated Ateshian and now they are sure that “traitor” of Father Manuel was Aram Ateshian.
“I got a letter, where the second shameful thing is found. Aram Ateshian sold a Gospel in the church of Amsterdam for good money. Instead of donating it to Armenia, he sells the spiritual book,” he said.
S.Hatspanyan is glad that the Armenian society was at its “peak” throughout these days. He hopes, that “We won’t allow Aram Ateshian enter Armenia” public initiative will succeed and his entrance to the country will be banned.
I have no connection to the initiative. As a person, who knows Aram, I only supported the initiative group for being informed. This initiative should be accomplished, that at least one priest was punished for non-spiritual activities. If he doesn’t willingly leave the occupied chair, we will really face a rather serious issue, that Turkey will develop its game through Aram Ateshian, who has become its puppet,” S.Hatspanyan concluded.
