Until a New War

Key West, Rambouillet, Paris, Washington, Moscow, Vienna, St. Petersburg…Talish, Hadrut, Martuni, Martakert, Stepanakert…In the first group of cities and capitals presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan periodically meet upon the initiative, mediation or exertion of any official representing the country, and fortune of people and soldiers defending locations of the second group is being discussed.

They meet by following all the rules of diplomatic etiquette, in pillared palaces and glossy halls, they discuss the fortune of people living under the threat of death every single day. By these meetings, in any case, at best, they insure today or tomorrow of those people, at the same time killing their future, visible and far future. As all those meetings, in fact, are meetings for human life, but meetings, where human life is just a tool to settle regional and geo-political issues. There is everything in these meetings except the human life. During these meetings nobody cares for the life of even one person. These meetings are for the purpose, that human lives of both sides were sacrificed with “proper portions” in space and time.

These meetings introduced under peace maintenance are, in fact, for the sake of war. In particular, when they are held in the territory of Russia, with Putin’s mediation, for whose war is the most preferred and profitable from possible methods. The only alternative for war with the logic of those meetings is not the peace, but surrendering physically and morally. War is a means to threaten societies, those bringing up their children under immediate threat: you should agree to surrender if you don’t want your children to die.

The dirty propaganda of putting parity between land and human life, which is being implemented openly and in a hidden way in Armenia throughout recent months, is its expression, a propaganda directed to prepare people for “land for nothing” deal. For some people land is a birthplace, settlement and sanctuary, and for others—a subject for trade. The point is not in compromise, without which it clearly can’t be a final settlement to Karabakh issue and permanent peace, to which any Homo sapiens strives to. The point is in senselessness, by which that land can and will be withdrawn to al probabilities, to which those in Yerevan give strategic or non-strategic assessments.

When will the tanks supplied by Russia recently act? When another footage will be spread on the internet, in which Armenian soldiers will be commanded to wait and not to shoot? When a few more generals will be arrested? And finally, when the April war will be resumed or the issue of that war be settled within other agreements? It’s all a matter of time.

Yesterday’s meeting in St. Petersburg maybe will approach that time or prolong for a few months. Providing the presidents, mediators the opportunity to prepare for the next meeting, which, probably, will be held in a more picturesque city or a mansion. People making decisions on lives of their relatives, need aesthetic diversity, and everything should be done that they had unforgettable impressions from every meeting and recorded the only purpose of every such meeting—see you. Or until another war.
