It’s Assumed by the Minsk Group, and we have not Moral, but Legal Right to Interfere and Give Assessments: Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia
“The first issue in Armenia-Kazakhstan relations is linked to the field of trade and economy, as trade turnover growth, strengthening of economic ties between subjects and businesses, are a ground for a better life both in Armenia and in Kazakhstan. If our citizens don’t live under proper socio-economic conditions, then it’ll be more difficult for us to touch upon country’s development. A person should be fed not with fables but with good words, he/she should be provided with socio-economic safety and job.
Different steps are being initiated to that end,” Timur Uryazaev, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Armenia, said, touching upon Armenia-Kazakhstan relations.
To the question as a CSTO member country and EEU partner what opinion Kazakhstan has of Karabakh issue settlement, and whether it shouldn’t be assessed who’s guilty, and who—not, and that such wars should be excluded, the Ambassador replied,
“First and foremost, EEU is an economic organization, we shouldn’t politicize our economic integration, as any politicization will lead to economic integrating issues, and EEU won’t provide the outcome we anticipate to have.”
As for CSTO, I must say, that the Government of Kazakhstan observes its liabilities within CSTO with great responsibility. And April occurrences, which you call a four-day war, of course, concern us deeply. These clashes firstly have led to losses, and we, frankly speaking, are sorry for casualties recorded on both sides.
It’s the 21st century, and it shouldn’t be so. As for assessments, we, unfortunately, or it turned out, that we aren’t involved in OSCE MG. Nazarabayev visited Stepanakert with Yeltsin in 1992, attempting to settle the issue there, however, after it Minsk Group assumed that role, and we have not moral, but right from legal standpoint to interfere and give assessments. Frankly speaking our president is ready to contribute to the peaceful settlement of the issue.
