What Happened Early this Year, has no Right to Repeat: Steinmeier’s Message in Baku

“We need to find security possibilities for NK conflict,” Frank-Walter Steinmeier, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, told at today’s joint press conference with Edward Nalbandian, RA Foreign Minister, touching upon his message with which he’ll head for Baku.

To the question, what message he’ll take to Baku and what he anticipated from the meeting results, Steinmeier replied that he’s a more realistic Foreign Minister, rather than a prophet. However, as he stated, what occurred early this year, has no right to repeat, and they should attempt to find security possibilities and new edges to continue negotiations due to which they’ll be able to keep ceasefire regime stabile, attempt to expand OSCE office. According to him, topics for negotiations in Baku will be these.

Note, three-day visit of Frank-Walter Steinmeier , OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, was launched to the South Caucasus. Steinmeier visited Armenia first, after which he’ll visit Azerbaijan and Georgia.

As German Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs informed the visits are aimed at facilitating the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict’s settlement.
