Armenia doesn’t approve Azerbaijan’s armaments purchase from Russia: Edward Nalbandian

Undoubtedly, Armenia dislikes that Azerbaijan purchases armaments from Russia, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian told RIA Novosti.

“Of course, we can’t like the fact that Azerbaijan purchases armaments from our ally, who exerts many efforts, from which: mutual cooperation with Armenia, as OSCE MG Co-Chair, to maintain peace and stability on our region,” the Minister said.

Moreover, he stated that Armenia had to exert efforts to keep power balance.

“As for the race of armaments, it isn’t Armenia that threatens to launch a new war, it isn’t Armenia that violates norms of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. Regarding what it leads to, we observed last April, when Azerbaijani military adventure was accompanied with middle age barbarism, including against peaceful population—children, women, elderly people, with toughest violation of international humanitarian law.

Naturally, under these conditions we have to exert all the efforts to keep power balance in the region and prevent new escalation, new war,” Nalbandian said.
