A crucial milestone for Armenia

“Of course, election violations won’t support Armenia-EU relations and may lead to miscellaneous after-effects, from which: restricting Armenia’s participation, for instance in several EU programs. However, I don’t consider everything will lead to that,” Richard Charnetsky, deputy president of the EuroNest Parliamentary Assembly, European political figure, told 168.am, reflecting to the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for April 2.

He informed that he formerly implemented observation mission in elections in Armenia, and although they haven’t been perfectly organized, on the whole, they were proper. Thus, the MP hopes that upcoming Armenian elections criteria will be higher.

“This is a crucial milestone for the country, when Constitutional regulations will start functioning after the development of the new parliament. As a representative of observation mission of the European Parliament, I’ll be in Yerevan,” Charnetsky said.

The latter stated that regarding signing Armenia-EU agreement the “ball” is mostly in the “court” of the new government. However, according to him, it seems to him no matter who will win in the elections, they’d intend to ratify the negotiated new agreement with the EU.
