After April war more than 700 lawsuits against Azerbaijan submitted to ECHR: Gevorg Kostanyan
More than 700 lawsuits against Azerbaijan over the protection of rights of civilians and Armenian soldiers during the April war were submitted to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Gevorg Kostanyan – Armenian Government’s authorized representative at the ECHR, Adviser to Armenia’s President, said at a meeting with reporters on March 16.
He said Armenia’s Government was officially notified about this by the ECHR. “We are already officially involved in those proceedings as a third side. We still have time and we are going to present our stance on these issues,” Kostanyan said.
He informed that previously Azerbaijan’s government announced that they have submitted 500-600 lawsuits against Armenia, but Kostanyan said at the moment Armenia received notification over 5 lawsuits against it submitted by Azerbaijan.
“In other words, still 5 case proceedings against Armenia have been accepted by the ECHR, whereas coming to Azerbaijan these number is 23,” he said.
