Sting: I’m very happy about United’s Mkhitaryan chant
Manchester United’s chant for Henrikh Mkhitaryan was sung several times last night as he scored in his team’s 1-1 draw with Anderlecht in the Europa League.
The chant, sung to the tune of Englishman in New York, has impressed Sting.
“I am very happy about that. I like to see songs repossessed and refitted for different purposes. It is pretty good too.
As a songwriter I think it is extraordinary the way those chants go around a massive group of people, and suddenly they are all singing the same thing.”
