Soldier killed by Azerbaijani fire

The Defense Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh told the Defense Army soldier was fatally wounded as a result of the ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani side. The Ministry issued a statement which says:

“On April 24 and overnight April 25 the Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire regime more than 50 times by firing over 800 shots from various caliber weapons at the Armenian positions in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.

In the south-eastern and eastern directions of the line of contact the Azerbaijani forces actively red sniper rifles (50 shots). As a result of the ceasere violation by the Azerbaijani forces, on April 24, at 17:50, a Defense Army soldier Narek H. Harutyunyan (born in 1997) was fatally wounded in one of the military units located in the eastern direction.

Investigation is underway. The Defense Ministry of Artsakh shares the grief of the loss and extends its support to the family, relatives and coservicemen of the fallen soldier. The Defense Army forces took countermeasures to suppress the Azerbaijani activeness.”
