The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has received and summarized the results of 2005 polling stations electronically as of April 3.
President Serzh Sargsyan’s Republican Party was leading with 50.43 percent of the vote, while the opposition coalition behind Gagik Tsarukian – a former arm wrestler and one of the ex-Soviet state’s wealthiest men – was trailing with 28.29 percent. The nationalist Dashnaktsutyun were at 6.88 percent, leaving them also set to enter parliament.

The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has started to publish the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections. According to the preliminary results, based on 82 polling stations, the snapshot is as follows
The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has released the electronic voting results of Armenia’s parliamentary elections. CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan informed that 877 people were eligible for electronic voting from which 747 cast their vote and 37 ballots were recognized invalid.
Polls prior to the vote showed the Republican Party of Armenia’s president, Serzh Sargsyan, in the lead, closely followed by a bloc led by businessman Gagik Tsarukian, one of Armenia’s richest men.
60.86% of eligible citizens of Armenia have cast their vote at the parliamentary elections, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia Tigran Mukuchyan told the reporters, introducing first data of participation of eligible voters.
According to the exit poll conducted by the Armenian Sociological Association and BS/The Gallup Organization the Republican Party of Armenia received 46% of votes at the parliamentary elections of April 2, Gallup representative Rasa Alisauskiene told “Yerkir Media” TV channel.
