Tsarukyan faction endorses Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy for PM election
The Tsarukyan faction of the Armenian parliament will endorse opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy for Prime Minister in the upcoming election, Tsarukyan faction MP Naira Zohrabyan told reporters April 30.
“As you know, we have joined the nationwide movement, we have announced about endorsing the people’s candidate and in this given case we will endorse Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy for Prime Minister,” Zohrabyan said.
Asked in exchange of what the Tsarukyan alliance has endorsed Pashinyan, Zohrabyan reassured that the alliance never dictates preconditions and they’ve made the endorsement without preconditions.
Zohrabyan also touched upon the possibility of forming a coalition in the event of Pashinyan being elected. She mentioned that they haven’t discussed this issue and added that they will be able to address similar questions after the elections.
She also expressed hope that the ruling party, the HHK, will remain committed to its statement and won’t block the election of the PM.
Nikol Pashinyan will also have meetings with the ARF and HHK factions.
