PM Nikol Pashinyan visits film icon Armen Dzhigarkhanyan in Moscow
After the Eurasian Economic Union’s intergovernmental council completed its most recent session in Moscow, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited film icon Armen Dzhigarkhanyan to meet the highly decorated legendary Armenian artist, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
Dzhigarkhanyan, 84, began his career in the film industry as an actor in 1959 and has ever since starred in around 300 movies with his most recent role in 2018. He has received numerous awards and medals by Soviet, Armenian and Russian governments during his career.
In the artist’s Moscow home, PM Pashinyan thanked Dzhigarkhanyan for the hospitality and said he is happy to meet him. “It is a great honor to meet you”, the Armenian Prime Minister said. “Mr. Dzhigarkhanyan, you enjoy great love and popularity not only among Armenians but also other nations and we are proud to have a countryman like you,” he added. PM Pashinyan also asked the actor about his ongoing creative programs, as well as his health.
Dzhigarkhanyan thanked the Prime Minister for visiting him and spoke about the activities of the theater run by him and his other projects.
“I want to visit Armenia, my homeland, very much, I think about it all the time,” Dzhigarkhanyan said.
