Russian FM congratulates Pashinyan on Armenia’s effective chairmanship in EAEU

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Armenia’s effective chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

“The cooperation with Armenia within the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States, of course, is always very important for us, and we congratulate Armenia on a very effective chairmanship in the EAEU”, the Russian FM said during a meeting with the Armenian PM in Yerevan.

PM Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the achievements recorded by Armenia during its 2019 chairmanship in the EAEU.

“I am happy to record that we managed to have quite a successful and effective chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union. Recently the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held its session in Yerevan, and I think, it was an unprecedented event with its scale, and I am very happy that during our chairmanship we signed an agreement with Singapore and Serbia, the free trade agreements with Iran and China entered into force, and I am also happy that our economic relations are successfully developing on this background”, the Armenian PM said.
