Statement of the National Security Council of Georgia

The National Security Council of Georgia held a meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the next military confrontation and the situation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The session discussed the severe situation caused by the conflict, which, unfortunately, has already been victimized, and the escalation of the situation will severely negatively affect the security of the region.

We are again calling on the EU Minsk Group co-chairmen and international actors to take all sizes to stop violence and update dialogue.
Georgia’s good neighbourhood relations connect both with Azerbaijan and Armenia. It’s our task to keep up and prove these relationships even more.
In Georgia we have always been proud of the peaceful lives of different nationalities, including Azerbaijanis and Armenians, which is our common found and needs great warning, joint care.
We should not allow separate destructive elements to shade our friendship and historical experience in the crisis between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Considering all this, the Georgian side once again confirms its willingness to promote situation in any form, including, if necessary, host a meeting of representatives of the conflict parties in Tbilisi for dialogue.

For many years, the Georgian side has fulfilled and fulfilled its international obligations, including neighbouring countries – Azerbaijan and Armenia. In particular, the transit function of Georgia is an important factor for the functioning and development of both countries’s economy. What is natural, is also in Georgia’s interests.
Even today, through Georgia, civil destination trucks are uninterrupted and safely carried out in the direction of any, including Azerbaijan and Armenia. The intensity of transportation is high and the indicator has not been changed after the military conflict renewal.

It should be noted that from the moment of the conflict burning, there are no restrictions on Georgian civil air trucks and will not be imposed.
In addition, due to the ongoing military actions between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Georgian government temporarily stopped granting permits in its territory, land and air routes to both countries. The parties were informed about this generation.

The Georgian side fully fulfills international obligations regarding any other international transit transport.
Our common interest is to quickly stop military confrontation and restore peace in the region.
