Changing the Poems
I seem to always write about death, destruction and genocide.
Or pen something about emigre Diasporans’ longing to return to ancestral lands.
Or their frustratingly long quest for overdue justice.
I wish I could write on something else.
Perhaps a poem on joy, love or peace.
Someday perhaps.
Someday…
In the meantime,
another poem has appeared in my notebook.
It is about conflict and discord.
It seems
I am a quintessential Armenian poet.
