Sensational disclosure: Aram Gabrielyanov: Pashinyan categorically prohibited Onik Gasparyan from using the Iskander
Russia-based media magnate and publisher Aram Gabrielyanov shared the following story on his Telegram channel:
“Well, since there was talk about the Iskander, I will share a story.
About a month ago, I had a very long and heavy talk with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia Onik Gasparyan in Moscow. I can’t tell the whole story, but since Nikol brought up the subject of this exclusive weapon, I will literally cite the following words of Onik…you be the judge:
“On the third day of the war, as chief of the General Staff, I decided to use the Iskander in the direction of two strategic objects, including the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline and another object.
Pashinyan categorically prohibited it, even though the Russians had made it clear that this was our war and our domestic affairs and that we could do whatever we wanted to do.
Three days before the fall of Shushi, I had asked Pashinyan to allow me to use the Iskander and strike two blows against the manpower of the Azerbaijanis who had amassed directly underneath Shushi.
Pashinyan categorically prohibited it, saying that if we killed several thousands of soldiers simultaneously, the international community would tear us into pieces.
The only time I was allowed to use the Iskander was in the direction of Shushi, and I did. We benefited from this and managed to bring a few tanks into the city. Two days later, I received an order to leave Shushi and retreat”.”
