Azerbaijani servicemen were spotted close to the Syunik region early on Wednesday in what was believed to be “border verification activities” at a section lying in the vicinity of Armenia’s southern region.
The ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Artsakh has issued a statement on May 12 on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the trilateral, termless agreement on a complete ceasefire and cessation of hostilities in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone.
Freedom house has called on the Azerbaijani authorities to fully cooperate with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and provide all requested information about the Armenian prisoners of war.
“The incidents related to the illegal entry of Armenian servicemen into the territory of Azerbaijan at the end of November last year, the death and wounding of Azerbaijani servicemen in December are a war crime committed against Azerbaijan. As a result of the operations carried out by the Azerbaijani special services, some of the Armenian servicemen who carried out provocative and subversive operations were killed and some were arrested. Investigations into them are ongoing.”
