Ashotyan was detained by using brute force while laying flowers at Holocaust Memorial

The vice president of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Armen Ashotyan was detained at the intersection of Moskovyan and Teryan streets by using brute force. As it is known, this morning the opposition started large-scale peaceful disobedience in the streets of Yerevan.

The vice president of the Republican Party Armen Ashotyan and supporters, as well as former MP Naira Zohrabyan, marched from France Square on Mashtots Avenue to Matenadaran, holding short rallies to close streets on Moskovyan Street, which Armen Ashotyan conducted by presenting the historical and cultural sites and monuments of Yerevan to those who were present. In the Ring Park in Yerevan, particularly at the intersection of Teryan and Moskovyan streets, the vice president of the Republican Party first spoke about the Holocaust and Genocide Memorial erected there in 2006, wanting to lay a bouquet of flowers near this monument. However, while laying a flower in the Ring Park, Armen Ashotyan was taken to the Erebuni Police Department, using unprecedented brute force, damaging his clothes and body.
