Ashotyan ordered to be neutralized. Hostages of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Investigative Committee

Armen Ashotyan, the vice-chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), has long been a tough bone in the throat of Nikol Pashinyan and the entire government team. The thing is that since the so-called revolution of 2018 until now, Armen Ashotyan is one of the sharpest and, most importantly, the most politically meaningful critics, who exposes the lies, falsification and conspiracies spread by these authorities in the domestic and foreign political spheres both in Armenia and internationallywith the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, all their treacherous actions against Armenia and Artsakh.

Last Saturday, on November 5, Armen Ashotyan informed during his Facebook live broadcast that the authorities, with the help of the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee (IC), Argishti Kyaramyan, had decided to reconsider a four-year-old case, in the framework of which various people were interrogated to arrest him, but in vain.

He also informed that he learntduring the “Against Artsakh Handover” rally that the former rector of the Medical University, 70-year-old distinguished doctor MikayelNarimanyan, who has not been called for questioning within those four years, who is known to be the best pulmonologist, as a doctor of His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

According to Ashotyan, the case goes through various structures and reaches the Investigative Committee “today’s near nothingness, he also reports to Nikol, I will give “the further” in that case”.

“The further”, in fact, was given because after detaining and then releasing Mikael Narimanyan, as well as involving the young female president of the “Heratsi” trade union organization in criminal proceedings, apparently not achieving the desired result, today the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia issued a message about the “case”, which says:

“M.N. is accused of embezzlement of particularly large amounts of property in the manner of waste provided for in Article 179, Part 3, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code in force at the time of the crime (currently, Article 256, Part 3, 3 of the Criminal Code) committing of a criminal act provided for in paragraph 1.

A criminal prosecution was also initiated against M.S. for aiding and abetting the theft of particularly large amounts of property by means of waste, provided for in Article 38-179, Part 3, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code in force at the time of the crime (currently in force, 46-256 of the Criminal Code “for assisting the theft of entrusted property on a particularly large scale” provided for by point 3 of part 3 of the article “, it is written in the press release of the Prosecutor’s Office.

MN is professor Narimanyan, MS is the president of “Heratsi” trade union organization.

We will not touch on the long-winded “nonesense” of the message, leaving the proof of its factual circumstances to the legal domain, but one sentence nevertheless contained a rather remarkable message.
“Necessary measures are being taken to find out the full range of persons involved in the corruption scheme and to initiate public criminal prosecution against them,” the prosecutor’s office said in the statement.

“Let’s interpret” the message of the Prosecutor’s Office. thus, the prosecutor’s office literally says that these people will be held hostage until someone gives evidence against Armen Ashotyan, because it is obvious that neither Professor Narimanyan, nor even more so the trade union of the university are not the exact targets of Nikol Pashinyan and his law enforcement agencies. Nikol Pashinyan needs to neutralize Armen Ashotyan at this stage, and it should be done at any cost, even if the price is to imprison an elderly doctor or a young woman who, according to 168.am, is currently in the hospital with serious health issues. This is not a problem for this government, which has crossed all moral boundaries and has no red lines.

And this is when even the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, the former Special Investigation Service, Sasun Khachatryan, refused to keep this hopeless case on his balance sheet.

It is clear from the press release of the Prosecutor’s Office that Nikol Pashinyan’s desired testimony against Ashotyan was not obtained, but Anna Vardapetyan and Argishti Kyaramyan will presumably put aside their disagreements in order to ensure the desired result in this case.

It is not a big deal for this government and its law enforcement agencies to make earthshattering statements, publish unreal numbers, give catchy names, initiate a criminal case, and after some time either put it to rest or dismiss it due to the lack of crime.

Embarrassment is not a problem for this government and its law enforcement agencies, as long as Nikol Pashinyan’s will is fulfilled at the given moment.

The same happened in the case of the criminal cases initiated against the “Ayb” educational foundation, as well as YSU and the former rector, late Aram Simonyan, when they were attributed respectively 8.3 and Accusation of abuses of 800 million drams, but later both of them were fortunately “swept under the carpet”, because it was a problem even for Nikol Pashinyan’s law enforcement officers to make up a tale.

It will surely be like this in this case as well, and the most disgusting thing in this story is that both Anna Vardapetyan and Argishti Kyaramyan are sure of it, but where there is Nikol Pashinyan’s will, all beliefs are nullified.

Anyway, we will definitely follow the outcome of this case, but for now, let’s note that the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Investigative Committee do not seek to hold people hostage in order to extract desired statements.

By the way, the Investigative Committee should know well what crime the perjury article is, and be careful, very careful in extracting testimonies.
