Policeman Karen Gevorgyan ordered Lilit Aghekyan to be stripped naked in front of cameras: lawyer

Lawyer Zaruhi Postanjyan has posted the photo of the police officer who, according to the lawyer, is accused of torturing Lilit Aghekyan and showing humiliating attitude towards her.

“I was told that police officer Karen Gevorgyan ordered Lilit Aghekyan to be undressed in front of cameras in the police building where she was being held and to examine her body in that way. During this operation and other actions taken against her, Lilit Aghekyan’s health condition deteriorated sharply and the police had to call an ambulance, after which Lilit Aghekyan was taken to the hospital.

In other words, the police were not satisfied with kidnapping Lilit Aghekyan in her pyjamas and slippers, without any hygiene items (Lilit Aghekyan was in a normal physiological state typical of a woman), but they also wanted to videotape her naked.

In addition, police officer Karen Gevorgyan threatened Lilit Aghekyan, mentioning that he would not forget that Lilit Aghekyan was the only journalist who wrote about him.

By the way, this police officer is known in Gyumri as someone who, during his duty hours, enjoys his rest in restaurants and cafes in his service uniform.

Questions to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia

Did you issue an order for the police to strip the arrested person naked for examination in front of a camera and videotape the examination of his body? If you issued such an order, when and where was it published? If you did not issue such an order, who is the author of that order and when will you respond to the torture committed against Lilit Aghekyan by the police?
