A rigged election cannot, and will not, become the source of legitimate authority. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF ARMENIA

STATEMENT BY THE EXECUTIVE BODY OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF ARMENIA

On the parliamentary elections of June 7, 2026, and the political situation in the country No elections were held in Armenia on June 7.

What took place was electoral fraud: a criminal act planned in advance, carried out under centralized command, and brought to completion through the direct intervention of the head of the regime, with the aim of usurping the will of the people.

Our party has consistently and unequivocally stated that these elections were being prepared under conditions that, from the very outset, stripped the electoral process of any free, fair, or competitive character. It was also out of this firm conviction that the Republican Party decided not to lend, through its participation, a veneer of legitimacy to a process whose course and outcome were being determined not by the will of the people, but by pressure from the administrative machine. Nikol Pashinyan’s regime will not tolerate free and fair elections under any circumstances, because a free election would mean its defeat. Election day itself, and the entire period leading up to it, fully confirmed that our warnings had been well-founded.

We share the assessments set out in the June 14 joint statement by the opposition political forces that took part in the elections. The widespread use of administrative resources, the intimidation of state and municipal employees, the political persecution and arrest of opposition figures and activists, the deliberate paralysis of opposition campaign offices, the transformation of state and pro-government media into instruments of smear and defamation, the outright falsification of votes, and the distortion of polling-station results were all links in a single, centrally directed criminal scheme. This was not a series of isolated violations, but the systematic stealing of an election through the full force of the state machine.

This criminal scheme was brought to completion by the Central Electoral Commission, which, by its June 14 decision, carried out an open usurpation of a three-fifths majority in the National Assembly in favor of the Civil Contract party by unlawfully refusing to organize a repeat vote in three polling stations, thereby depriving the Prosperous Armenia Party of the opportunity to cross the electoral threshold. What has been presented as the official outcome is not the result of an election, but an outright usurpation of power by Civil Contract.
All state bodies — including the law-enforcement system, the Central Electoral Commission, and the so-called independent bodies — have unlawfully served, and continue to serve, solely the interest of Nikol Pashinyan’s self-perpetuation in power, deliberately failing to ensure the lawful conditions necessary for genuinely democratic elections.

In light of the foregoing, the Republican Party declares:

The official results of the so-called June 7 elections are fraudulent, null and void, and do not reflect the will of the Armenian people.

The National Assembly formed on the basis of these results is not a representative body of the people, but a collection of usurped mandates, devoid of any democratic legitimacy. The Republican Party does not recognize a National Assembly formed in this manner, or the government it creates, as a lawful expression of the will of the Armenian people.

Personal political and legal responsibility for plunging the country into a deep domestic political crisis, and for all possible consequences arising from it, rests with Nikol Pashinyan himself, who, in order to hold on to power at any cost, violated the people’s constitutional right to elect their government and endangered the foundations of Armenian statehood.

The Republican Party calls on all political forces that bear responsibility for the Nation and the State, and on every citizen, to overcome their differences and unite around a single common goal: to restore the people’s stolen vote and defend Armenia’s statehood.

We will pursue this struggle with determination and without compromise, by constitutional, legal, and democratic means alone, in defense of citizens’ right to vote, the national interests of the Republic of Armenia, and the fundamental values of democracy.

A rigged election cannot, and will not, become the source of legitimate authority.

The Republic has been, and remains, our highest value.
