GROUND WAR IN IRAN: A GUARANTEED DISASTER FOR THE UNITED STATES
Dr. Artur Khachikyan, a PhD in Political Science from Stanford University, interviewed Lawrence Wilkerson, a retired US Army Colonel, military analyst, and former Chief of Staff to US Secretary of State Colin Powell.
In our conversation with retired Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, military analyst and former aide to US Secretary of State Colin Powell, we discussed America’s historical military blunders and Donald Trump’s current, perilous policies. We addressed the fact that military operations now serve to enrich arms manufacturers and distract the public from domestic scandals.
Wilkerson issued a stark warning that any ground operation in Iran would be an absolute disaster for the United States, leading to massive casualties. He noted that the military lacks the necessary manpower, and in the event of a potential draft, the youth would simply flee the country. Wilkerson characterized Donald Trump not as a “president of peace,” but as a “president of war” who has abandoned his stated principles.

In this conflict, extremists may pose the greatest danger. Reflecting on the late Colin Powell’s words, Wilkerson recalled what he described as a prophetic remark: “He told me, ‘Larry, look at Europe, look at NATO—they are going to disappear.”
