“Expressed by the PM’s style: do I believe in Aliyev’s changing? I don’t. Will there be revolution in Azerbaijan? I don’t know. Would world countries want that? Maybe. However, there are other interests there, and by realizing that those interests are more important at the moment, than NK issue settlement, we should understand our role. Do we have oil interests there? No.”

Touching upon the deadlock in NK conflict settlement process, Russian military expert said, “Definitely, NK conflict should be, first and foremost, settled through political means, thus, all the sides, including Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, other sides interested in the settlement, should manage political dialogue. It’s another issue that it may last for 10-15-20-50 years. It’s somehow natural, but more preferable, than war.”

Fighting between the PKK and security forces in urban areas has largely stopped since the summer, but has continued in rural areas and the mountains. The European Union Delegation to Armenia and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) have signed a Contract to the EUR 2 million grant that marks the beginning of a three-year project aimed at facilitating development of the civil society sector in Armenia.

American-Armenian rock musician, founder and soloist of “System of a Down” group Serj Tankian said via Skype that the Diaspora-Armenians are quite separated from Armenia’s economic, political life. “The Diaspora-Armenians do have sufficient understanding on the events in Armenia,” Tankian said.

President Sargsyan spoke also about the tasks before the AGBU and noted that he would love to see the Armenian General Benevolent Union much more Armenia-centered which will benefit the Union and all its beneficiaries alike.
