After the Cuban revolution the Armenian renowned composer Aram Khachatryan was among the first, who toured to the Liberty Island with a small soviet delegation. The political context was very obvious in this tour but not for him. In February 1960 Khachatryan presented his second symphony. He was also the leader of the group.

Growing emigration is becoming a threat for Armenia. If this trend continues this way, it may become a threat to Armenia’s national security. The issue of emigration is like an alien for the Armenian society – everybody knows about the growing trends, people feel the impact, but nobody knows real numbers.
We have used the simplest index in 1991. Of course there is a quantitative growth, especially in the first years of independence but when we are speaking about the indexes of the recent years it seems the economy is plummeting.

PM Tigran Sargsyan has found an answer to the question why he used to object to Armenia’s integration with Customs Union because of lack of common border with Russia, and now he is actively involved in promotion of integration policy with the Customs Union.
Armenia compromised for the sake of that goal and initiated rapprochement, the world leaders were standing behind them when this memorandum was being signed. This expectation did not come true either.
It is 14 years that Armenia is a member of the European system. When did you see them supporting free market economy, competition and human rights protection? Our country is a small one and we should cooperate with a large country. I think first of all we should be partners with Eastern countries such as Japan and China, where people are conservative about moral and national values.
