Atom Egoyan at “Personnel Office N168” (Exclusive)
World-famous Armenian moviemaker Atom Egoyan this week offers 168.am readers to watch one of his preferred movies—“Vertigo” by Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock
This is Atom Egoyan’s reflection on the film:
“The movie I can watch over and over again is Alfred Joseph Hitchcock’s “Vertigo.”I think, it creates an exceptional mood of desire and longing, and integration of the music with image is wonderful. Though parts of the film don’t make literal sense, we are swept up by the feeling of being inside a haunting dream.”
The film tells of a policeman Scot, who leaves his job due to continuous depression and fear of height, which was the reason of his colleague’s death. Psychological trauma pursues hum until traces lead to a mystic woman.
Note, that British Film Institute (BFI) released its ranking of “The top 100 films of all time.” Leader is the trailer of Alfred Joseph Hitchcock’s “Vertigo.” James Stewart, Kim Novak and Barbara Bel Geddes are acting in the film, which was released in 1958.
Not also, among 250 highest-rated movies based on votes by IMD, Alfred Hitchcock’s movies are found the most, including “Vertigo.”
